LG has officially revealed pricing and availability for its 2026 OLED TV lineup, including the flagship evo G6 and the more mainstream evo C6 models. And surprisingly, the numbers are far less painful than many expected. Despite bringing updated display technology and improved processing, LG has kept launch prices largely unchanged compared to the 2025 generation.

The LG OLED evo C6 starts at $1,399 for the 42-inch model, while the premium LG OLED evo G6 begins at $2,499 for the 55-inch version. That means buyers are essentially getting newer hardware at the same entry price as the previous C5 and G5 models. Now that’s something that doesn’t always happen with annual TV refresh cycles.

Brighter panels, more AI, same entry price

The C6 and G6 are LG’s flagship OLED offerings for 2026, replacing the popular C5 and G5 lineup from last year. Both series bring improvements in brightness, processing, and gaming features while keeping the familiar OLED strengths of perfect blacks and near-instant response times. One of the biggest upgrades this year is the use of newer OLED panel technology in select sizes. The larger C6 models, including the 77-inch and 83-inch versions, adopt LG’s newer multi-layer RGB Tandem OLED panel design, which can deliver significantly higher brightness than traditional OLED structures.

Meanwhile, the G6 remains LG’s true flagship “gallery” OLED, designed for flush wall mounting and premium home theater setups. It carries features like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, AI-powered picture processing, and gaming specs that include 4K at up to 165Hz with VRR compatibility for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync. The C6, on the other hand, continues to be LG’s sweet spot OLED, which balances flagship performance with more accessible pricing. It will be available in six screen sizes ranging from 42 inches to 83 inches, making it one of the most flexible OLED options for different room sizes and budgets.

The broader takeaway is that LG appears to be leaning into value this year. By keeping prices steady while introducing brighter panels and updated processing, the company is positioning the C6 and G6 as straightforward upgrades rather than more expensive replacements.

Tidal lays down the rules for AI music. I wish Spotify and everyone else would follow
Tidal app showing on iPhone 15 Pro.

Every week, the AI music problem is getting increasingly hard to ignore, especially for streaming platforms. Deezer reported that 44% of all new music uploaded to its platform daily is now AI-generated; that's almost half the songs.

Spotify relabeled and tightened its AI policies last September, while Apple Music announced a tagging approach in March. However, the subscription-based artist-first music platform Tidal has done something none of them did.

Netflix just got a whole lot more irritating if you share a screen in a household
Every profile will soon need its own email address, adding another hurdle for households that share a TV.
Netflix on TV couple watching

Netflix's password-sharing crackdown isn't over just yet. The streaming giant is now rolling out another change that could make shared household accounts a little more cumbersome, this time by asking every profile on an account to have its own email address. While the move isn't designed to stop families from sharing a subscription, it does add another layer of identity verification that many users probably weren't asking for.
