The True Detective stars are back together for a comedy that takes one very persistent rumor and turns it into an eight-episode family mystery.

Remember the internet rumor that Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey might be half-brothers? Apple TV has turned that long-running theory into a full comedy series, and the first two episodes of Brothers are now available for subscribers to stream.

The two actors last shared the screen in True Detective, and I didn’t know how much I wanted to see them reunite for a comedy until now. Apple first announced the series last June. Lee Eisenberg, known for his work on The Office, serves as the showrunner, and both stars are also executive producers.

What is Brothers all about?

In Brothers, McConaughey and Harrelson play fictional versions of themselves. The story begins when Woody’s daughter’s wedding falls apart, and he packs up his family for a long stay at Matthew’s ranch in Austin.

The trip is supposed to help everyone heal, but things go sideways fast. Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac, played by Holland Taylor, accidentally reveals a secret she has kept buried for decades: the two lifelong friends might actually be brothers.

From there, Woody sets out to find the truth and turns the ranch upside down in the process. Meanwhile, Matthew has his own identity crisis to deal with as he considers running for Governor of Texas. Apple describes the show as a heartfelt, chaotic, and funny story that blurs the line between myth and reality.

When do new episodes of “Brothers” arrive?

The first season will have eight episodes. The first two episodes have already premiered, with Apple TV releasing a new episode every Wednesday until November 4th, so your Wednesday nights are sorted for the next few weeks.

This is the second Apple TV project for both actors. McConaughey starred in the Apple Original Film The Lost Bus last year, while Harrelson starred in Fly Me to the Moon.

Should you watch it?

If you loved their chemistry in True Detective, Brothers looks like a fun change of pace. Instead of a dark crime drama, you get the same duo in a lighthearted story about friendship, family, and fame. You should definitely watch the first two episodes before you make up your mind.

YouTube is reworking the Home page with Custom Feeds and quicker access to Subscriptions
Saved Custom Feeds are rolling out as YouTube also experiments with a redesigned Home navigation bar.

YouTube is changing how its Home page works, giving viewers more control over what shows up there and making some of the app’s most-used sections easier to reach. Custom Feeds are now replacing the existing topic chips for eligible users, while YouTube is also testing a redesigned top bar on mobile that moves Subscriptions closer to the Home feed.

YouTube first started experimenting with Custom Feeds earlier this year, letting you type out what you wanted to watch and turning that request into its own stream of recommendations. Now, the feature is starting to look less like a side experiment and more like something YouTube actually wants people to use as part of their everyday Home page.

Skullcandy is now part of Bose, but its bold identity isn’t going anywhere
Bold style, meet big sound. Skullcandy just joined the Bose family.
Skullcandy headphone man

If you own a pair of Skullcandy earbuds, there’s a good chance you’ve already heard Bose without realizing it. Now, the two companies are making things official. Bose has bought Skullcandy, the brand that made a name for itself with eye-catching headphones and a whole lot of attitude.

This deal didn’t come out of nowhere. For the past few years, Skullcandy has been packing Bose’s audio tech into its earbuds and headphones under the Sound by Bose label. That team-up worked so well that Bose decided to go all in and bring Skullcandy into the family.

Spotify rolls out its first native car app for cable-free listening, but only Audi drivers get it for now
Spotify app on Audi

I’ve sacrificed too many charging cables to my car’s USB port (even the braided ones). All so my playlist could follow me down the road.

Spotify just launched a fully native car app that runs on the car’s infotainment system, with no phone or cable required. However, it’s only available for Audi owners right now.
