iPhone 6 design outed by Spigen: Cases for 4.7 and 5.5-inch models due Sept. 30

It’s doubtful that any iPhone launch has ever caused this much excitement. The iPhone 6 is perhaps the most highly anticipated smartphone in years because, for the first time, Apple is expected to radically change its philosophy. If the rumors prove true – and they probably will – the next iPhone will arrive in two new sizes: 4.7 and 5.5 inches. We’ve seen countless mockups, leaked images, and pilfered iPhone 6 parts, but now we’ve received a very big confirmation of the rumors we already regard as fact.

Case maker Spigen posted several of its iPhone 6 cases on Amazon.com for pre-order. The listings show a mockup of the iPhone 6 inside the company’s new cases. Not surprisingly, Spigen says it’s making cases for both the 4.7-and 5.5-inch versions of the next iPhone. It even goes so far as to list an availability date of September 30, which is in line with recent rumors that Apple will unveil the highly anticipated device on September 19.

Even though it’s clear that the iPhones shown inside the cases are just more mockups, these images may be the best indication of what we will see with the iPhone 6. At any rate, they certainly all but confirm the existence of two large iPhone 6 models. As a case maker, Spigen most likely has received very accurate data directly from Apple, regarding the next iPhone’s appearance and dimensions. Overall, the device looks as thin, rounded and big as expected. We’re also very happy that the Volume buttons are larger, like the iPad Mini, and the Power button has been moved to the side, making it more comfortable to press on a larger device.

The company also posted an image on Google+, showing a case for the iPhone 6. The teaser image says, “Can you feel it? There’s something in the Air,” a tagline that also hints at the validity of iPhone Air rebranding rumors.

In the past, Spigen has outed many flagship smartphones, including the Nexus 5, prior to launch. Coincidentally, Spigen’s renders and size approximations, as well as it’s estimated release dates are typically very accurate. The case maker also has a long line of rumors to support its mockup’s appearance.

5 reasons why you shouldn’t buy the iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro in Natural Titanium held in hand in rose garden archway.

Apple’s iPhone 15 series came out last September, including the base model iPhone 15, the larger iPhone 15 Plus, the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro, and the top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro Max. These are Apple's latest offerings, at least until the iPhone 16 comes out later this year.

I got my iPhone 15 Pro on launch day, and it’s been my daily driver ever since. I picked a Pro model over the standard one because I like having the triple-lens camera system and the new Action Button. But I only went with the smaller iPhone 15 Pro instead of the Pro Max because I prefer more compact phones.
