From Software has shared a video of the character creation tools for its upcoming action role-playing game, Bloodborne (via IGN).
The menus bear more than a passing resemblance to the character creation screen in From Software’s other action RPG opus, Dark Souls. Rather than choosing a class in the traditional sense, however, players select one of several origin stories that affect starting stats, such as “Lone Survivor,” “Military Veteran,” or “Noble Scion.” Then players customize the gender and appearance of their avatar, choosing everything from build, hair, and facial features to glasses and jaunty, Victorian half capes.
Bloodborne continues Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki’s work in gritty, brutal action RPGs, trading the measured, defensive combat of Dark Souls for amped up aggression and more cooperative multiplayer. It arrives on March 24, 2015, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
