HTC’s bigger, better One M9+ will be out in Europe soon

HTC announced the One M9+ back in April, following various rumors discussing the device’s existence. The phone addressed several of the complaints about the One M9 — its similarity, spec-wise, to the One M9 mainly — with a larger, higher resolution screen and faster processor.

HTC will release the One M9+ in Europe

However, at the time the One M9+ was only confirmed for release in China, India, and Taiwan; but in mid-July, this changed when HTC announced the phone would be released in Europe. While this is great news, the exact details on the launch haven’t been revealed. That means we don’t know the price, whether the release will be Europe-wide or in specific countries, or how much the phone will cost. The latter detail will likely come when local networks announce they will be stocking the phone, and we’ll keep you updated.

Better specs than the One M9

The One M9+ has a 5.2-inch screen with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, squeezed into a body that’s 9.6mm thick and weighs a reasonable 168 grams. The phone is powered by the new MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor running at 2.2GHz for “smoother movie playback and sharper photos,” plus it has 3GB of RAM.

The camera is somewhat of a hybrid, combining the Duo Camera we first saw in the One M8 with a 20-megapixel lens. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is of the now-standard UltraPixel variety. HTC claims that the new rear-facing shooter provides “a level of detail that even the most avid phonographers will appreciate.” Considering the lackluster camera on the M9, this would certainly be welcome.

The HTC One M9+ has a fingerprint sensor located on the home button, that’s equipped with multi-directional sensors so you can place a finger on the sensor in any direction to unlock the phone. Other features include a 2840mAh battery, 4G LTE, 32GB of memory, and a MicroSD card slot. Like its smaller sibling, the M9+ runs Android 5.0 and HTC Sense.

The company's first flip phone features a T9 keypad, 5G, USB-C, and LightOS instead of addictive apps.
Light Flip Phone Featured

Flip phones are having a bit of a comeback. But most modern versions either feel cheaply made or swap one set of distractions for another. That's exactly what Light says it wants to change with the Light Flip -- its first-ever flip phone and the fourth phone the company has released in the past decade. Staying true to the philosophy behind previous Light Phones, the new device combines a classic clamshell design with a minimalist software experience that helps users stay connected without constantly competing for their attention.
