Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series spinoff Hyrule Warriors is being ported to the Nintendo 3DS, a since-pulled gameplay trailer revealed earlier today. A mirror captured by DomtenU is available here.
The trailer features a cast of characters previously seen in the Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors, along with a couple of new faces. New to the playable roster are The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker‘s Tetra and Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule, the former king of The Legend of Zelda series setting Hyrule.

Originally released for the Wii U console last year, Hyrule Warriors blends characters and settings from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series with the beat-’em-up gameplay of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors franchise. While the gameplay may be a departure from Zelda’s action-RPG roots, Hyrule Warriors packs a large number of familiar characters and story elements featured in previous games, effectively recontextualizing classic moments from the series.
The 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors places a battleground map on the platform’s lower screen, and allows players to swap characters mid-battle by tapping icons. While the trailer doesn’t reveal much else in the way of new content beyond additional characters, it hints at connectivity features between the console and portable versions of Hyrule Warriors. Further details are scarce at the moment, and Nintendo has not yet officially acknowledged the port’s existence.
Returning characters from the Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors include Link, Zelda, Princess Ruto, Agitha, Fi, Ghirahim, Darunia, Lana, Midna, Sheik, Zant, Ganondorf, Cia, Volga, Wizzro and Impa, according to Nintendo Inquirer. Hyrule Warriors saw multiple batches of DLC released in the months after its launch last year, adding characters like Ganon to its playable lineup.
Seeing as the game has not been officially announced, there is no release date yet.
