Netflix’s new comedy starring Maria Bamford, Lady Dynamite, is bringing out the big guns. The show is set to include a number of familiar faces in its 13-episode first season. Well-known comedians and actors Sarah Silverman, Jenny Slate, Patton Oswalt, Mira Sorvino, Brandon Routh, Adam Pally, June Diane Raphael, and Tig Notaro have all been tapped to guest star, according to EW.

The multi-talented group includes several writers and stand-up comedians, many of whom have had guest-starring roles on other notable comedy series. Silverman previously hosted her own show, The Sarah Silverman Program, starred on Bob’s Burgers, and garnered acclaim for her voice work in Wreck-it Ralph. Slate, a former Saturday Night Live cast member, has appeared on such comedies as Parks and Recreation and House of Lies. Patton Oswalt has also guest-starred on various TV comedies, including beloved shows ranging from Seinfeld to Modern Family. He currently plays multiple roles on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Having bounced around genres, Mira Sorvino won an Academy Award for Mighty Aphrodite, and has also starred in work as diverse as Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and Lifetime miniseries Human Trafficking. Brandon Routh, on the other hand, is best known for superhero roles. He starred in the 2006 movie Superman Returns and plays The Atom on The CW series Arrow. Adam Pally has been more comedy focused, with guest appearances on Happy Endings and The Mindy Project.

June Diane Raphael and Tig Notaro are both Netflix veterans. Raphael stars on Grace and Frankie, while Notaro starred in the streamer’s documentary Tig, which followed (though not too closely, of course) her attempts to get pregnant with her fiancée. Notaro has also worked on Inside Amy Schumer, and Raphael has a movie podcast called How Did This Get Made?

Along with the new group of guest stars, it was previously announced that Dean Cain and Ana Gasteyer would appear on Lady Dynamite.

The series is based on Bamford’s life, though loosely. Some of the episodes will be surreal as the show explores “the story of a woman who loses — and then finds — her s**t.”

Bamford will executive-produce the show alongside co-writers Mitch Hurwitz (Arrested Development) and Pam Brady (South Park). Lady Dynamite will be released on Netflix in 2016.

Still, many original shows have beaten the cancellation curse and had a successful life, at least by streaming standards. These shows are Netflix's best efforts that actually got to enjoy a full life cycle, receiving more than five seasons.
