Rock-hard butter b’gone! This sprayer transforms a stick into mist in seconds (Update)

Like the convenience of sprayable butter, but hate all the fake compounds and chemical propellants found in sprayable products? If so, we’ve got good news for you. There’s a new kitchen gadget in the works that gives you the best of both worlds, allowing you to enjoy the convenience of butter mist without compromising on taste.

Introducing the biēm butter sprayer, the first-ever butter sprayer that transforms a real stick of butter into liquid spray in just a matter of seconds. To use the sprayer, insert a stick of butter (your choice) in the top of the device. While holding the sprayer by its silicon handle, aim onto the food of choice or object in a steady motion and in just seconds, butter transforms into spray thanks to heat and air. The biēm melts the butter at just 95 degrees without overheating.

This butter sprayer is also built with an accelerometer that detects when the user has picked up the device, allowing for an easy on/off option. The biēm is designed with a special patent-pending nozzle in order to prevent clogging — this allows for proper portion control, cutting about half the calories normally consumed. Because the user can insert any type of butter, this eliminates the worry of consuming butter with any artificial ingredients or chemicals.

“While there are other products on the market that claim to be butter sprays, none of them use real butter. They are all using either artificial or flavored oil and typically are chocked full of other artificial ingredients. Not to mention dangerous flammable propellants.  Until now, there has never been a way to take a solid stick of real butter and turn it into a handheld spray in seconds, period,” said creator Doug Foreman to PR Newswire.

The possibilities of using the biēm are endless — from steamed vegetables to buttering popcorn without the sogginess. Users can also use other alternatives to butter such as coconut oil or olive oil. The biēm, which was recently featured on Shark Tank, starts shipping November 30 and costs $129.
