Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott ain’t afraid of no ghost

Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
Among the many things that the original Ghostbusters got right was its fun, uber-catchy theme song of the same name. Composed by Ray Parker Jr., the song was wildly successful, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on August 11, 1984. It held the spot for three weeks and went on to be nominated for Best Original Song at the 57th Academy Awards. Though it lost out to Stevie Wonder’s I Just Called to Say I Love You, Ghostbusters (the song) was a genuine sensation, that had everyone from from California to Kalamazoo proclaiming that they weren’t afraid of no ghost.

Fortunately, along with the upcoming, all-female reboot of the original film, the Ghostbusters theme is getting a new lease on life as well. According to Billboard, Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott have been tasked with recording a 21st-century version of the song, an honor that crossed an entry off of bassist/lyricist Pete Wentz’s “kid dream bucket list.”

We can certainly relate. Short of actually being a Ghostbuster in real life, this is about as cool as it gets for ’80s babies who were obsessed with the film.

The Ghostbusters: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album debuts on July 15 and the first single — Elle King’s Good Girls — dropped earlier today. You can listen to that song below, which is pretty darn spirited/catchy in its own right.

Also appearing on the upcoming soundtrack are G-Eazy, Jeremih, Pentatonix, 5 Seconds of Summer, Walk the Moon, and Wolf Alice. The full track listing for the album is expected to be announced soon.

As for Ghostbusters the movie, it hits theaters on July 15, and stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. You can check out the latest trailer here.

Everything you need to know about Andor season 2
Cassian aims his gun in Andor.

Andor is arguably Lucasfilm's crowning achievement of the 21st century. While that may be up for debate, there's no denying the success of Andor season 1, culminating with universal acclaim from critics and eight Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. It's certainly the most mature Star Wars project to date.

Created by Tony Gilroy, Andor stars Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, the petty thief who will eventually become a key leader and spy for the Rebel Alliance. Andor is a prequel set five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the film where Luna first introduced audiences to Cassian. It's been a long time since Andor season 1 ended in November 2022. Slowly but surely, season 2 is on the way. Below is everything you need to know about Andor season 2.
Is there a release date for Andor season 2?
There is no release date for Andor season 2 yet. Andor season 2 was originally scheduled to be released in August 2024, two years after season 1 premiered. However, the series experienced several production delays while filming because of the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. Therefore, Andor season 2 had to move its late summer 2024 release date.
