These are the best Memorial Day tech deals so far

Add as a preferred source on Google

Memorial Day weekend hasn’t arrived yet, but we’ve already seen a slew of great sales with enough deals to make your head spin. From tech to outdoor gear, the 2020 Memorial Day sales have something for just about everyone, but what we’re always the most excited about is tech. If you are too, then we’ve rounded up five of our favorite Memorial Day tech deals out of everything that we’ve seen so far.

Apple Watch Series 3 (38mm, GPS) — $179, was $199

Digital Trends

If you’re in the market for an Apple Watch and are on a budget (or you just don’t want to shell out $400+ for the Series 5), the Apple Watch Series 3 is the one to buy. Even if it lacks some of the bells and whistles found on the newer models, the Series 3 still features all of Apple’s signature polish and build quality, and it also doubles as one of the best fitness trackers you can buy thanks to a full set of health and activity-tracking functions. At $179 after a $20 discount, the Apple Watch Series 3 is one of the best Memorial Day tech deals we’ve seen so far.

Apple AirPods Pro — $220, was $250

Despite a bunch of competition in the true wireless earbud market, the AirPods still reign supreme — especially if you’re an iPhone user. Apple made these earbuds even better with the AirPods Pro, which deliver fantastic sound, great noise cancellation, in-ear comfort, and ease of use. They also come standard with a wireless charging case. These premium earbuds are certainly pricey, but this Memorial Day deal lets you score a pair for $220 and save $30.

Arlo Pro 2 Home Security Camera System — $259, was $420

Security is one area where smart home tech makes a lot of sense, and the Arlo Pro  2camera system is a perfect example. This two-cam bundle installs in minutes and makes it easy to monitor your property both inside and out (they’re weather-proof, so you’re good to go if you want to set them up outdoors), and the cameras even have night vision capabilities and two-way audio. The Arlo Pro easily integrates with your home wireless network and features an alarm siren as well. This package is on sale right now for $259 for Memorial Day, saving you a whopping $161.

Apple iPad 10.2 — $399, was $429

All the iPads are great, but the standard model is still our favorite. The 2019 refresh was a worthy update, too, packing a gorgeous 10.2-inch display (a half-inch upgrade over the previous model thanks to trimmed-down bezels) and offering great performance for just about anything you’d want to do on a tablet. This new update also comes with a Smart Connector, meaning you can finally use it with an Apple Smart Keyboard. That’s a lot of capability for the cheapest member of the iPad family, and the 128GB model is on sale right now for as low as $399.

Dell XPS 13 — $735, was $850
WITH COUPON CODE 50OFF699

We’ll just say it: The Dell XPS 13 might be our favorite laptop of all time. This 2019 touchscreen model is nearly perfect: It comes loaded with a 10th-gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 4GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD — perfectly respectable hardware for a modern work machine — and features a gorgeous 13.3-inch InfitityEdge touch display, which is an ideal size for portability and utility. The 2019 Dell XPS would normally set you back $850, but you can grab it for $735 right now with the checkout code 50OFF699.

WhatsApp app store listing open on iPhone

There's no shortage of messaging apps out there. The past decade has given us more options than we know what to do with, largely because smartphones demanded something better than plain old SMS.

Both the App Store and the Play Store are packed with apps that promise to revolutionize the way we communicate. Most of them didn't make it. The truth is, a messaging app is only as good as the number of people using it, and most apps never cross that threshold.

Nintendo Switch 2 Questions with Giovanni Colantonio
A couple of weeks ago, we posted our first hands-on impressions of the Nintendo Switch 2. I got to attend the first-ever hands-on event for the console, played about 11 games, and now I’m here to answer your biggest questions.

Question from @kennethcheung4938: We haven’t seen much of the new OS yet—is it similar to the original Switch OS, or is it a full overhaul? If it’s the latter, will we still be able to play games from outside our native region? For example, if I have a U.S. Switch, can I buy physical game cartridges in Japan and still play them in English?
