The 2012 Charger Pursuit is Dodge’s latest foray into law-enforcement vehicles. It comes with one of two engines: an aluminum 3.6-liter Penastar V-6 engine which delivers 292 horsepower and a 260 lb.ft of torque and Dodge claims up to 27 mpg highway. The other engine is 5.7 V8 Hemi that they say can get up to 25 mpg highway. Flex-fuel capabilities are also available.

The Pursuit comes with large car rear-wheel drive architecture from Chrysler Group and Nivomat shocks, and two-mode police-specific Electronic Stability Control.

Some of the safety equipment includes multi-stage driver and front-passenger air bags, seat-mounted side-thorax air bags, and supplemental side-curtain air bags for front and rear outboard passengers, as well as a driver’s knee bag.

Ora Ballet Cat

The Volkswagen Beetle may be long gone, but one of its most obvious spiritual successors isn't ready to disappear just yet. Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) is preparing to relaunch the Ora Ballet Cat, its retro-styled electric hatchback that famously drew comparisons with the iconic Beetle. This time, however, the company is hoping extra performance and a fresh identity will succeed where clever marketing couldn't.

According to a report by Car News China, the latest regulatory filings published in China reveal that the Ora Ballet Cat is receiving a more powerful electric motor, a higher top speed, and could even lose its feline-inspired name altogether. The update arrives as competition in China's EV market reaches new highs, forcing automakers to rethink products that once stood out for style alone.

Self-driving cars keep getting in the way of first responders, and Uncle Sam just ran out of patience
Robotaxis are supposed to make roads safer, but first responders say they're becoming a real problem.
Waymo Jaguar I-PACE sensors close up

Self-driving cars are supposed to make our roads safer, but it seems that they are  doing the opposite. NHTSA administrator Jonathan Morrison sent a letter to autonomous vehicle developers this week, and he didn't hold back. He called the pattern of driverless cars getting in the way of first responders "unacceptable," and said a car that can't safely handle an emergency scene is a danger to everyone around it.

What's actually going wrong?
