Belkin Flythru

After arriving hours early to the airport, getting herded into line, and crushed onto a plane with dozens of other coughing, wheezing passengers, most frequent fliers are eager for any way possible to ease agony of flying. While Belkin’s new FlyThru notebook bags won’t let you skip the line, keep your shoes on, or bring back the full can of shaving cream you had to throw away from your carryon, it will make passing through airport security just a bit easier.

Rather than keeping your laptop in the center of your notebook case where you’ll have to dig in, remove it, and put it into a separate bin for airport security to examine, the FlyThru keeps it in a separate, clear-windowed pocket on the side. Just unzip one zipper, splay the bag out with the laptop visible to security, and pop it on the conveyor belt.

A convenience breakthrough? Not exactly, but it will give you one less big-ticket item to keep track of as you’re scooping change back into your pockets on the other side of the scanner and trying to get your belt back on before your pants fall off. Better yet, the bag rings up for $60, so it’s really no more expensive than any of Belkin’s other travel notebook bags.
