For months, it’s seemed that 2016 would be the year that the major players attempting to bring virtual reality to the main stream finally set up their respective stalls. However, it seems that one of those efforts may have hit a snag, as it’s being reported that PlayStation VR might not hit retail until later in the year.

This development came as GameStop CEO Paul Raines appeared as a guest on the Fox Business Channel yesterday morning, according to a report from Ars Technica. Raines noted that the video game retail chain expects to begin stocking the VR hardware in the fall.

That seems to contradict the official line Sony has been sticking to for quite some time, which centered on the vague but seemingly solid release window of the first half of 2016. That date has been parroted since it was first broached at an unveiling of the hardware held in March 2015.

However, it’s worth considering the massive changes that PlayStation VR has undergone in that time. Back then, it was known under the more interesting code name of Project Morpheus, and likely had a way to go in terms of development. Given their competition in this field, Sony will likely have been watching its rivals very closely.

There’s also the fact that video game hardware is typically launched in the run-up to Christmas. Given that other VR headsets have been closer to the price of a brand-new console than an accessory, there might be concerns that releasing the headset in the summer would backfire.

While there will be lots of PlayStation 4 owners disappointed to have to wait a little longer for VR, this delay might not be such bad news. Headsets intended for use with PC hardware are somewhat separate from the console industry, so Sony might find some success in hanging back and observing how the likes of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive fare.

All upcoming PS5 games: 2024 and beyond
Eve kneeling with her sword.

The PlayStation 5 has been out for some time now, and its reception has been mostly positive. It includes lots of quality-of-life improvements over its predecessor, the PlayStation 4, such as faster load times, a solid-state drive (SSD) instead of a regular hard disk drive (HDD), and an improved controller in the form of the new DualSense. However, a console is only as good as the games available on it, and thankfully, the PS5 has you covered on that front as well.

While the machine already has a worthy library of great PS5 games, there are even more to look forward to, with some releasing as soon as this month, while others are still years away. In the video game world, it's not uncommon to be aware of games that are still several years out from release. It's also normal for a new game to be revealed and launched within just a couple of months. In this comprehensive list, we'll go through the major PS5 releases scheduled for 2023 and speculate on future games.

Elden Ring: How to find and use Rune Arcs
An Elden Ring player sits on their horse and looks out at a castle ahead.

Like everything else developed by FromSoftware, Elden Ring is painfully difficult. It'll take you hundreds of hours to discover everything it has to offer, and unless you're a grizzled veteran, you'll likely hit the "Game Over" screen thousands of times before your journey in the Lands Between comes to an end.

One way to help even the odds is by using Rune Arcs — a consumable item that lets you access Great Runes. You'll first need to unlock Great Runes to start properly using Rune Arcs, but once that's taken care of, you'll notice a big boost in your abilities.

When will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth be on PC?
final fantasy vii rebirth ending analysis 7 tifa aerith cloud

PlayStation 5 players have been raving about the second part of the FF7 remake project Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. As with the first part, it was made clear well in advance that this game would be a PlayStation exclusive at launch, however, we did eventually get Remake of the first part on PC around a year later. This gives PC players hope that the same treatment will be given to Rebirth, but the big question becomes how long will we have to wait this time? Is it possible to see it come to PC storefronts faster than its prequel, or will we need to bide our time avoiding spoilers for months on end? Here's our best estimate as to when you can expect to see Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC.
What is the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC release date?

The sad fact of the matter is we don't have an official release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC or any other platform at this time. But there is reason to at least hope that the wait won't be as long this time around. Our only clue is that the marketing for Rebirth states that it is a PlayStation 5 exclusive until at least May 29, 2024. That's exactly three months after its initial release.
