HP updates Envy printer lineup with 4500 and 5530 e-All-in-One multifunction devices

HP_ENVY_e-All-in-One_4500Check out our written reviews of the HP Envy 4500 and the HP Envy 5530 printers.

In addition to the multiple computers announced today, Hewlett-Packard also introduced two new multifunction printers in its Envy series: the Envy 4500 e-All-in-One (shown above) and the Envy 5530 e-All-in-One.

HP isn’t unveiling anything groundbreaking in these two new models, but both are equipped with wireless connectivity, allowing you to control them via a smartphone, tablet, or PC sans wires; scan and send to a mobile device; print to the machines from anywhere as long as they’re connected to the Internet; and get news and coupons sent to the printers via the HP Printables feature.

The printers have a compact design ideal for home use. Both machines offer duplex printing, great for drafts and saving money and resources. Print speed is rated at 9 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 5 ppm in color. Users have the option of using high-capacity ink cartridges, but when your ink runs out you can use HP’s Instant Ink subscription service for easy replenishment.

HP’s mum on pricing and availability so far, but you can expect these to show up sometime this summer.

Man using dual monitor arms on his desk.

After-market monitor arms are one of those "upgrades" you can perform that I never saw the need for. I mean, I've already spent several hundred dollars on a nice monitor for work and gaming, why would I spend another $50 on a stand for it to replace the perfectly good one the screen came with?

It turns out that the answer is because they're just better. And not in the $1,000-Apple-stand better kind of way. Just that bit better. And when you're on a quest to reduce back pain in your office, you'll try just about anything.
