iBuypower has rolled out a new edition of its Battalion 101 CZ-10 gaming notebook, and along with all the bells and whistles one might expect on a portable system that’s mainly designed to let user frag their friends and enemies, the CZ-10 Premium Edition features something new: accident protection. The Premium edition will be the first notebook in iBuypower’s lineup to insure against damage from accidental spills and tumbles.

“We felt it was time to refresh our mainstream gaming notebook line,” said iBuypower VP Darren Su, in a statement. “We are excited by the features and exceptional coverage we are able to offer with the CZ-10 Premium at a very competitive price.”

The Accidental Damage Protection plan applies to the original buyer of the notebook and can’t be transferred, but covers damage from spills, drops, electrical surges, and fire; coverage includes the system’s CPU, memory, hard drive, keyboard, LCD, and other parts. Users are responsible for backing up their own data and shipping the notebook to a service center, but iBuyPower covers everything else, including return shipping.

The CZ-10 Premium Notebook features a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (supports up to 4 GB), and a 15.6-inch 1,366 by 768-pixel WXGA display powered by an ATI RAdeon 4650 graphics controller with 512 MB of video RAM. The system also sports a 2 megapixel Webcam, a 3-in-1 card reader, fingerprint scanner, a 6-cell battery, a 500 GB hard drive, and an 8× DVD±RW DVD burner.

The Battalion 101 CZ-10 Premium Gaming Notebook is available now at the iBuypower site, with pricing starting at $1,235.
