Star Trek Online Opens Beta Testing

Whether you’re human, Klingon or Vulcan, you’ll be excited to hear this news: Atari announced that Star Trek Online has now entered its open beta testing, meaning it won’t be too long before we get the real deal. Players who have pre-ordered the title will receive access to the beta version. And according to the Star Trek Online site, users who have a registered account will be randomly selected to receive a beta key for access.

The site says the open beta runs until January 26^th and the official title should be out by February 2^nd. So if you’re not sure whether to partake in the upcoming PC MMO game, check out the beta version and these video clips of the game from NeoSeeker.

Email scams are back in the news after it emerged that cybercriminals tricked a staff member working for Shark Tank host Barbara Corcoran into handing over nearly $400,000.

Corcoran revealed the incident in an interview with People magazine, explaining how her bookkeeper wired $388,700 to a bank account set up by the scammers after receiving an emailed invoice “approving the payment for a real estate renovation.”

Earlier in 2019, Microsoft shocked the world and announced it would be building a new cross-platform web browser based on Google's open-source Chromium project. After initial leaks, the company eventually launched two Edge development insider "channels" which allowed Windows and MacOS users to download and test out public preview versions of the browser for free.

Known as "Canary" and "Dev," each of these two initial insider channels is constantly getting updated with fresh and exciting elements like a natural read-aloud feature. These channels are known to be buggy, however, as they are mainly designed for Microsoft to get feedback from users.

Razer celebrates Star Wars Day with Stormtrooper-themed gaming accessories

Just in time for Star Wars Day, Razer has launched a series of monochromatic accessories in black-and-white tones through its partnership with Disney. The Stormtrooper-themed collection includes a mechanical keyboard, wireless mouse, and a massive mouse pad. The collection was launched in conjunction with the event that is held on May 4 each year and was designed in partnership with Disney's Lucasfilm. May 4 was chosen as a pun on the catchphrase May the Force be with you: May the Fourth be with you.

"Donning the iconic stormtrooper design, the Razer BlackWidow Lite mechanical keyboard and Atheris wireless mouse are built for productivity and performance, tuned for both the office and home environments," Razer said in a release. "The Star Wars-themed Razer Goliathus Extended gaming mouse mat completes the set with a massive surface area for intense work sessions and high-adrenaline gaming."
