iriver, a maker of portable audio and video players, today said they were introducing their T family of sports focused, flash-based digital audio players. The company said the new line supports Windows Media Digital Rights Management, so they will be capable of playing music from subscription based music services such as Napster and Yahoo! Music Unlimited.
The T10 series of the T family will come in 512MB ($149.99) and 1GB ($199.99) internal storage sizes. Major features in this series include color display, USB 2.0 support, playback of MP3, OGG and WMA (including DRM) audio files, FM tuner/recorder, voice recorder and a built-in sports clip.
The other member of the T family is the T30 series. It will come in 512MB ($99.99) and 1GB ($149.99) sizes. The feature set for this series includes a four line backlit display, USB 2.0 support, playback of MP3, OGG and WMA (including DRM) audio files, voice recorder, line-in encoding and a virtual sound boost.
“iriver achieves another first with PlaysForSure flash-based music players that support portable music subscription services,” said Jonathan Sasse, president of iriver America. “Our introduction of the T family gives our customers an expanded array of options for exploring, downloading and enjoying music.”
