Podcasts…from Whirlpool?

Here’s one you didn’t expect to see coming. Whirlpool, that company which makes your washer and dryer, is getting into podcasts. Their new series will “explore the American family”.

The 30 minute podcasts launching this week on whirlpool.com, Whirlpool said, will explore diverse family issues such as parenting, career, health and technology. They will be hosted by the company’s director of consumer insight Audrey Reed-Granger. The content will consist of interviews with “everyday” people talking about their joys and challenges as it relates to the specific topic.

New podcasts will be posted every Monday and Thursday morning. There will also be special American Family podcast events throughout the year, featuring in- depth conversations with experts on a variety of subjects related to parenting and home life.

“While each Podcast tells one person’s individual story, there are many universal truths that run throughout the series and paint a real portrait of families in America today,” said Reed-Granger. “We know that there is more to our consumers than their appliance purchase decisions. While future Podcasts might address specific Whirlpool products, this initial series on the American Family will simply serve as an opportunity for our consumers to connect with the company — and each other — on a deeper level.”
