Apple unveiled the fourth-generation iPad Air in mid-September, and the tablet is set to start shipping on October 23. Pre-orders are still ongoing, and if you submit yours through Amazon, you will be able to enjoy a $40 discount to the latest iPad Air’s price of $599, bringing it down to $559 for a great deal on a device that hasn’t even rolled out yet.

The all-new iPad Air with 64GB storage features an edge-to-edge 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, made possible by moving the Touch ID sensor from the eliminated Home button to the tablet’s top button. The tablet is powered by the A14 Bionic, making it the first device with Apple’s latest chip, and follows the latest iPad Pro in ditching the Lightning port in favor of USB-C. It is also compatible with the Magic Keyboard and the second-generation Apple Pencil, for accessories that can further expand the iPad Air’s usefulness.

Apple’s latest operating system for its tablets, iPadOS 14, amps up the iPad Air experience by further integrating the Apple Pencil into the tablet’s note-taking capabilities, as well as adding the Scribble feature for text fields to recognize handwriting. The new version of iPadOS also introduces Universal Search to quickly find anything on the iPad Air or online, redesigned widgets to access information with a glance, and new looks for native apps such as FaceTime and Siri.

Apple has also designed the iPad Air to be environmentally friendly. The tablet is built with a 100% recycled aluminum enclosure, 100% recycled tin for the solder on its main logic board, and 100% recycled rare earth elements for its speakers. Even the tablet’s packaging is green, as it is made out of wood fiber that is recycled or sourced from responsibly managed forests.

If you pre-order through Amazon, you’ll shave $40 off of the tablet’s price, bringing it down to $559 from $599.
