‘Battlefield 1’ gets some classy Xbox One S consoles for October release

Battlefield 1 releases on both current-gen consoles and PC next month, and if you still haven’t picked up a new machine yet, Microsoft has just the thing to get you leading bayonet charges and sniping unsuspecting soldiers in no time.

Available on October 21, the Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Bundle includes a white 500GB console as well as a code to download the digital version of the game. But you won’t be stuck just playing one game — also included is a month of EA Access, which grants you full access to games like Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Titanfall, and Battlefield 4. Your progress will be saved should you choose to extend your membership beyond the one-month trial.

United States residents can also purchase a “Storm Grey” package, which includes all the same contents as the white bundle but in a different color. Both bundles will retail for $299, and are available to pre-order right now.

If you’re willing to hand over a little more cash, you’ll want to consider the “Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Special Edition Bundle” instead. It contains a beautiful olive drab 1TB Xbox One S with a matching stand and controller, as well as the “Early Enlister Deluxe Edition” of Battlefield 1, which grants players access to the game a few days before its official release. To top it off, the bundle also includes three DLC packs, “new visual appearance” for the giant Behemoth vehicles, five Battlepacks, and a month of EA Access. It will launch on October 13 — a week before the game releases — for $350.

Should you buy any Battlefield 1 Xbox One S console bundle at GameStop, you’ll be given a physical copy of the game instead of a code. Battlefield 1 releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 21.

We make every decision with the long-term health of Xbox in mind, and long-term health of Xbox means a growing platform, our games performing, building the best platform for creators, reaching as many players as we can."

During today's Xbox Business Update, Sarah Bond, president of Xbox at Microsoft, reaffirmed the gaming company's commitment to hardware. She confirmed that Xbox is already looking ahead to its next console, which she teases will be a major technical leap.

The news came at the end of a 22-minute podcast where Xbox shared its vision for the future. The panel, featuring CEO of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer, Bond, and Matt Booty, president of game content and studios, addressed rumors that Xbox would be bringing its games to other platforms and ditching hardware. While there was some truth to the first point, as four unnamed Xbox exclusives are headed to other consoles, the hardware rumors weren't correct.
