Bionic Commando to use PhysX Engine

Now that ownership of the famed PhysX technology has found its way into the hands of industry goliath Nvidia, that relatively short list of PhysX-compatible games seems to be growing quite rapidly. Capcom announced on the Monday that the latest Bionic Commando game will take advantage of the PhysX running Nvidia GPUs to offer advanced, more interactive environments.

Bionic Commando follows the story of Nathan Spencer, the original character from the 1988 release of Bionic Commando on NES, in a storyline that takes place 10 years after the events of that game. According to Capcom, adding PhysX acceleration will dramatically increase the realism of the title, with environments that include walls that can be torn down, trees that bend in the wind, and water that flows with body and force.

Under Phil Spencer, Microsoft invested tens of billions of dollars into Game Pass, bought some of the industry's biggest publishers, and pushed the idea that subscriptions, not consoles, would define gaming's future. According to a new report from Bloomberg, that vision is now being rethought.

But according to a new report from Bloomberg, the service has fallen well short of the ambitious goals Xbox originally set for it. The report claims Xbox executives targeted 77 million Game Pass subscribers by the end of fiscal 2026. Instead, the service reportedly sits at around 30 million subscribers today, which is less than half of what Microsoft had hoped to achieve.
