Obama Not a Zune User After All

Add as a preferred source on Google

Of all the nasty rumors President Elect Obama could have faced in the weeks leading up to his taking office, the most attention-grabbing seems to have centered on his choice of MP3 player. The Web lit up with commentary this week after one reporter claimed to have seen Obama with a Microsoft Zune.

The yarn began on Wednesday when Neil Santos, a reporter for Philadelphia City Paper, reported in his blog that he had seen Obama at the gym using none other than a Microsoft Zune. Tech blogs and even traditional outlets like The Washington Post leapt onto Obama’s fashion faux pas, and the seeming contradiction of a known Apple fan using a Zune.

Obama’s own press team actually stepped in to clarify the situation on Thursday, telling the Wall Street Journal, “Not true, the President-elect uses an iPod,”  sending waves of reassurance across hordes of Apple fans.

Santos stands by his assertion that he saw a Zune, but did clarify in a follow-up that it might not have belonged to Obama after all.

Roborock brought FIFA World Cup fever to Miami and it was blast to experience
Roborock Miami Fifa World Cup event

So, naturally, there was plenty of Real Madrid memorabilia on display, including a shirt signed by France striker Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid and Brazil legend Roberto Carlos was present on the last day of the installation to greet fans.

Apple Home AI features come with a hidden price tag
Your cameras just got smarter, but so did Apple's upsell game.
Apple Home

I previously covered the new Apple Home AI features revealed at WWDC 2026, which include several quality-of-life improvements, including auto-updating notifications, smarter camera search, automatic tracking and stitching of multiple videos for a single event, and higher-resolution recordings, among others.

Like many Apple Home features, these features are only available to iCloud+ customers. However, at the event, Apple didn’t notify which plans will get access to these features. Today, we get the answer in the release notes of macOS Golden Gate beta 3, and you are not going to like it.
