New Nano Banana shortcut will let you tweak images right from the Gemini overlay

What’s happened? Google could soon add a shortcut to its AI-powered image editor, Nano Banana, to the Gemini overlay.

  • Android Authority spotted the new “Edit this image” shortcut in version 16.42.61 of the Google app, though it’s not widely available yet.
  • The shortcut shows up when an image is attached to the Gemini overlay and lets users make changes by adding a description.
  • Google is also testing a “Feeling lucky” button for Nano Banana, but it’s functionality is currently unclear.
