Walgreens today announced they were upgrading their digital photo services as the nation’s largest drugstore chain selected Hewlett Packard’s Snapfish service to power a new Walgreens online photo site.
The new site, according to a joint press release, will allow Walgreens customers to use Snapfish’s tools for online photo ordering, sharing and storage. Walgreens added that they were rolling out, on a market-by-market basis, the ability to upload photos to the site and later pick up the prints at a store of their choice in as little as an hour. It is expected this pick up service will be in all of Walgreens’ stores by September.
A mail delivery option for the photos which have been uploaded is available as well.
“Our partnership with Snapfish gives our customers the most convenient photo services at competitive prices,” said John Sugrue, divisional merchandise manager for one-hour photo operations, Walgreens.
“Today’s news provides consumers a seamless connection to sharing their photos online and printing them at Walgreens convenient locations,” said Ben Nelson, vice president and general manager for Snapfish, HP. “In combining Snapfish’s leadership in online services with Walgreens leadership in retail photo processing, we’re giving consumers greater choice, flexibility and access to their memories when, where and how they want them.”
