With Facebook’s mission to make the world more open and connected, and help keep families and friends in touch, there are likely to be plenty of expressions of gratitude landing on the site on any given day.

Although posting on a fellow user’s wall or sending a message suffices for most, developers at the social networking site have decided to jazz things up a bit and try to increase user engagement by introducing ‘Say Thanks’ video cards.

To use the new feature, you simply head over to the Say Thanks site, choose a friend, and then hop, skip and jump through the various steps to build the card.

Choose a suitable theme, tap out your message, select some pics and past posts, and you’re good to go. Once you’ve tagged it and hit send, your Say Thanks video card will turn up on your timeline as well as your friend’s, allowing them to feel all comfy and cozy inside when they log in and view your heartfelt thank you card.

“Your friends are at the core of your Facebook experience, and we are always looking for new ways to help you celebrate those friendships,” Facebook design manager Cameron Ewing said in a post announcing the new feature.

Say Thanks is available globally on both desktop and mobile in English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish.

Facebook LIve

Facebook Live lets you livestream video directly from your Android or iOS device. Creating and streaming live content might sound like a challenge, but setting up a livestream within Facebook's mobile app is a fairly straightforward process. Here's how to go live.
Getting started
Step 1: The first step to setting up a livestream is to launch the Facebook app as you would normally. From the News Feed tab, locate the Live button just below the What's on Your Mind? section at the top of your display. (Note: The screenshots below are from the iOS version, but the steps also apply to Android.)

Step 2: Next, tap either the Live button or the What's on Your Mind? field at the top, the latter of which will bring up a host of additional options, including a Live Video button.
