Airbnb launches Trips to help you find new things to do when you travel

It looks like Airbnb wants to expand its reach beyond just short-term rentals — in fact, the company could be looking to transform itself into a full-on travel agency.

Airbnb has created a new initiative it calls Airbnb Trips, which is aimed at offering users experiences beyond just finding a place to stay — those experiences could include a range of different activities, including taking a surfing trip in Malibu or eating an obscure food in Paris.

“If you want to have an amazing trip, you end up basically on a research project,” said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky during the Airbnb Open conference, according to a report from The Verge. “If you have a passion, an interest, or a hobby, you can share your community with others in the world.”

Airbnb is kicking off with Trips in 12 cities, with the major ones including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Tokyo, and San Francisco. This, however, is just the beginning — Airbnb hopes to bring the initiative to more than 50 cities by next year.

Trips can range from a few days to only a few hours and can include all sorts of different activities. You can filter using different types of activities too — like trying new foods. As part of the new feature, Airbnb says it partnered with restaurant startup Resy, which lets users book tables at popular restaurants.

Of course, the ultimate goal for Airbnb is to offer more than just short-term apartment rentals. Instead of using Airbnb for one service, users may start thinking of the company as their go-to for all their travel needs. That is if it can successfully fight against recent regulations — a number of cities in the U.S. have banned Airbnb from operating and some have imposed strict fees on any rentals that are less than 30 days.

I've found it a little absurd that health apps from different companies and service providers refuse to communicate with each other, even when you're the one who owns the data. Google just took one small yet important step toward fixing it.

Google Health version 5.05 started rolling out today. And compared to the last several releases, this one's fairly light, especially since it follows four crucial updates packed into June and July.

Google can’t catch a break as the Pixel 11 Pro leaks once again
Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

Google's Made by Google 2026 event is just around the corner, but at this point, it feels like the company has very little left to surprise us with.

The latest leak brings what appear to be official marketing renders of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, offering perhaps the clearest look yet at Google's upcoming flagship phones. Shared by well-known leaker Evan Blass, the images don't just show off the hardware — they also hint at camera upgrades, AI features, and the next-generation Tensor chip powering everything under the hood. While none of the images reveal anything dramatically unexpected, they do suggest Google is paying attention to one design complaint Pixel fans have had for years.

Samsung’s risky move with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is paying off threefold
Samsung’s passport-shaped Fold is leaving last year’s bestseller in the dust
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Inside Screen View

For a brand that's stuck to safer updates for most of its annual updates, Samsung’s odd new passport-shaped foldable was a surprisingly risky move--and it seems like that gamble is paying off. Early demand suggests the company may have underestimated just how many buyers wanted something different.

According to a BusinessPost report, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is selling at roughly three times the pace of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 during the comparable early sales period. Demand has reportedly caught Samsung off guard, leaving the company working to increase production and get more units into stores.
