Metroid: Other M Live Action Trailer

Nintendo appears to be taking a page from Halo’s playbook. To promote the newest chapter in the Metroid franchise, Nintendo has released a live action trailer for Metroid: Other M.

The game was originally schedule for release on June 27, but was delayed until August 31 to give the developers a bit more time, and to increase the promotion of the game.

Metroid: Other M takes place after the events of the SNES game Super Metroid, and before the Gameboy Advanced’s Metroid Fusion. The story will delve heavily into Samus’ past, as she and a group of soldiers respond to a distress signal from a damaged ship. Samus and the soldiers must split up to rescue survivors and discover what the threat is.

The game is a Wii exclusive. Check out the live action trailer below, and be ready to grab a copy on August 31.

When compared to Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and even Metroid, the Pikmin series was never a runaway success, but that hasn't stopped Nintendo from developing new installments. And we're glad, because the Pikmin series is full of wit, charm, and originality. During the September 2022 Direct, Nintendo finally unveiled the next entry, aptly titled Pikmin 4.

This announcement came nearly a decade after the previous entry, and although we don't know much about it, we're excited it's happening. The latest installment of the oddball strategy series is bringing some new features, including a brand new Pikmin type and an adorable dog companion. Positioned as the Switch's big summer 2023 release, it has the chance to get more eyes on the series than ever before.

It's been over a decade since we got the last new 2D Mario game, but that dry spell has finally come to an end. Super Mario Bros. Wonder has appeared and will give us a brand new side-scrolling adventure through the Mushroom Kingdom. While 3D Mario titles tend to get most of the excitement and praise from fans, there's no denying that the 2D games are just as creative and fun in their own ways. Release date
