Yamaha launching first flagship Aventage Preamp and Amp in August

mxa5000bl_frontYamaha has introduced its flagship Aventage AV separate components today, coming in the form of an 11.2-channel preamp and an 11-channel power amp, designed to deliver thundering sound in a serious home theater setup.

Coming in August, the CX-A5000 AV preamp and MX-A5000 power amp have both been designed with a focus on the design and engineering that Yamaha says the Aventage brand is known for.

Much of what’s in these two is proprietary to the company as well, including the preamp’s dual high performance ESS Technology Sabre32 Ultra DACs Aventage mxa5000_interior Smallfor more accurate sound imaging, as well as Cinema DSP HD for creating a 360-degree sound field when using front and rear speakers. The Advanced HDMI Zone Switching feature found in the second zone graphical user interface streamlines and simplifies selection and playback for any HD video and audio source available in the main zone from a second room.

There is also widespread support for a number of protocols. There is 4K Ultra HD pass-through, AirPlay, MHL for mobile devices, Pandora, Rhapsody and SiriusXM access and a high-resolution music enhancer. There are eight HDMI inputs on the CX-A5000, one in the front and two with 3D and Audio Return Channel. It also supports WAV and FLAC files with 24-bit audio playback for tingling the ears of audiophiles everywhere.

The MX-A5000 has 150 watts per channel, offers 5-channel Bi-amping and other configurations via the various ports and inputs.

“Our new preamp and amp are seamlessly matched to offer an entirely new home entertainment experience that will surprise even the most selective customer,” said Bob Goedken, general manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division. “Like other models in this ultra-performance line, these embody our obsessive attention to detail and granular approach to design. The result is overwhelming power and the absolute purest, best-sounding audio and video reproduction possible.”

Both the preamp and amp will be available in August exclusively at authorized Aventage dealers for $3,000 each.
