Check out our full review of the Grace Digital Bluetooth GDI-BTSP201 speakers.

Grace Digital, the people who brought us the Ecoxgear line of outdoor speakers, along with scores of other wireless systems, have announced today the release of a pair of wireless bookshelf speakers, the GDI-BTSP201. Designed with hi-fidelity home audio in mind, the speakers utilize Bluetooth 4.0 and aptX to provide CD-quality audio streams from your smartphone or tablet.

Available on Amazon for $200, the speakers’ bargain-basement price point makes them poised to offer some healthy competition to current offerings like the Nuforce S3-BT or NOCS NS2. Aside from aptX, which is still unavailable for iOS devices, the speakers also utilize the SBC and AAC codecs. Other features include a USB input for charging your device, an RCA Aux input, an on-board control panel, and the ability to link up to 8 devices at a time for a Brady Bunch-sized household of wireless commanders. The system offers a claimed frequency range of 50Hz-20kHz from its pair of 1-inch tweeters and 3.5-inch midbass drivers.

The speakers are canvassed in leatherette exteriors in a trio of color options including red, black, and white. We haven’t gotten a chance to audition them as of yet, but they will have to provide some serious performance to stand-up to the S3-BT, which offer excellent sound quality in an eerily similar package. The Grace Digital GDI-BTSP201 shelf speakers are available now.
