Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD is set to arrive for PlayStation 3 on March 18, 2014 in North America, Square Enix confirms. The PS3 release will follow in Europe three days later, on March 21. The bundled package that delivers remastered versions of the classic PlayStation 2 Japanese role-playing games was previously set to be available at the tail end of 2013 on PS3 and PlayStation Vita.
There’s no explanation offered for the PS3 release delay, and it also seems that the Vita version won’t be surfacing this year either. Square Enix’s press release notes that “details regarding the PlayStation®Vita system version will be announced at a later time.” While it’s certainly possibly that the “later” revelation of details might confirm, say, a December release, it seems much more likely that 2014 is the new plan for both versions of the game.
