What’s happened? Amazon’s Fire TV lineup just grew with the addition of four new entries. Amazon says these new entries are ideal for all, with an option for every price point. One key addition for these new devices is the inclusion of Alexa+, Amazon’s in-house AI model.

  • The new products are the Fire TV Omni QLED (50″-75″), Fire TV 2-Series (32″-55″), Fire TV 4-Series (32″-55″), and Fire TV Stick 4K Select.
  • The Fire TV Omni QLED, 2-Series, and 4-Series have a sleek new design.
  • Omnisense technology is available on all new TV sets.
  • The Fire TV Stick 4K Select doesn’t come with support for Alexa+ out of the box.

Why is this important? Aside from adding AI support to these new entries, there are also some significant performance upgrades that each brings to the table.

  • In comparison with its predecessor, the Omni QLED Series offers a 60% brighter display and a faster processor.
  • The Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series both come with HD screens with ultra-thin metal bezels.
  • Users can expect 30% performance improvement on the Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series thanks to the new quad-core processor.
  • For more budget-friendly shopping, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select offers HDR 10+ support, a new operating system called Vega, and better performance.

Why should I care? Shopping for a TV is quite complicated, as there are a ton of factors to take into consideration. Amazon’s new Fire TV lineup puts most factors you might consider into view. From pricing to screen size to performance, and even smart features, this new lineup tries to tick all boxes.

  • For the new Fire TV Omni QLED, 2-Series, and 4-Series, screen sizes start at 32 inches and go up to 75 inches.
  • Omnisense helps these new TVs adapt to the conditions in the room for a better viewing experience.
  • Alexa+ also enables users to interact directly with the TVs via voice commands.
  • With $40, you can transform your old TV into a smart TV with the Fire TV Stick 4K Select.

Okay, what’s next? The new Fire TV lineup are available for pre-order now, and are set to start shipping in October and November. Google might also be preparing to give Amazon Alexa+ a run for its money.

  • The 50-inch Fire TV Omni QLED retails for $479.99, rising to $1,199.99 for the 75-inch model, and will start shipping on November 5.
  • The Fire TV 2-Series starts at $159.99 for the 32-inch set and will start shipping on November 5, while the 4-Series starts at $329.99 for the 43-inch set and will start shipping on October 22.
  • Meanwhile, the Fire Stick 4K Select costs just $39.99 and will start shipping on November 5.

The LG C-Series has long occupied a unique position in the TV market. For years, it has been the default recommendation for anyone looking for a premium OLED experience without stepping into flagship pricing territory. It consistently delivered the picture quality, gaming performance, and overall reliability that made it one of the safest OLED recommendations available.

Tidal lays down the rules for AI music. I wish Spotify and everyone else would follow
Tidal app showing on iPhone 15 Pro.

Every week, the AI music problem is getting increasingly hard to ignore, especially for streaming platforms. Deezer reported that 44% of all new music uploaded to its platform daily is now AI-generated; that's almost half the songs.

Spotify relabeled and tightened its AI policies last September, while Apple Music announced a tagging approach in March. However, the subscription-based artist-first music platform Tidal has done something none of them did.

Netflix just got a whole lot more irritating if you share a screen in a household
Every profile will soon need its own email address, adding another hurdle for households that share a TV.
Netflix on TV couple watching

Netflix's password-sharing crackdown isn't over just yet. The streaming giant is now rolling out another change that could make shared household accounts a little more cumbersome, this time by asking every profile on an account to have its own email address. While the move isn't designed to stop families from sharing a subscription, it does add another layer of identity verification that many users probably weren't asking for.
