Here at CES 2014, MSI revealed that its got several tricks up its sleeve for PC gamers on the go this year. One of those maneuvers comes in the form of the GS Stealth notebook, which MSI claims is the world’s thinnest and lightest 17-inch gaming laptop.
The GS Stealth has actually been renamed, having previously been known as the GS 70. Between the GS 70 and the new re-branded Stealth, the body remains mostly unchanged, featuring an amalgamation of metal and plastic that’s draped in matte black all over.
The GS Stealth weighs between 5 and 6-pounds and measures between 0.8 and 0.9 inches thick. Wearing a 1920 x 1080 resolution display, its powered by a 4th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM and storage which tops out at a config that includes a trio of 128GB SSDs configured in RAID 0, plus a 1TB mechanical hard drive on top of that. However, MSI is mum on the graphics chip that’ll come with the new GS Stealth, because they’re planning to stuff it with next-gen Nvidia graphics, which the GPU maker has not announced yet. Stealth’s keyboard, which is made by SteelSeries, isfully back-lit, as you’d expect on a gaming notebook.
MSI expects to release the new GS Stealth in Q1 or Q2 of this year, and prices will range from $1,549 to $2,299.
