Fujitsu has announced two more entries in its tablet PC lineup: the LifeBook T2010 which sports a conventional convertible table PC form factor, and the LifeBook U810, a tiny, QUERTY-equipped palmtop PC designed to put processing power and entertainment in a small, portable package.
“The LifeBook U810 notebook hits the mark for on-the-go workforces and prosumers who appreciate the mobile aspects of a PDA, but need the power and compatibility of a notebook,” said Paul Moore, Fujitsu’s senior director of mobile product marketing, in a release. “And for customers who love our best-selling LifeBook T4220 convertible notebook with a modular bay, but would like a lighter 1-spindle version with longer battery life, the wait is over with the introduction of the LifeBook T2010 notebook.”
The LifeBook T2010 is built around an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, maxes out at 4 GB of RAM, and sports a 12.1-inch active digitizer LCD display with a two-way hinge which an be used with either a finger or a stylus. The units ship with hard drives ranging from 80 to 120 GB, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an integrated fingerprint scanner, and a high-capacity main battery which offers up to 9 hours of use with a standard battery and up to 11 hours on a nine-cell unit. Even better, the whole thing weights just 3.5 pounds and is just 1.3 inches thick. The LifeBook T2010 is available now with prices starting at $1,599.
Fujitsu says the LifeBook U810 palmtop is the wold’s smallest convertible tablet computer. The U810 sports an 800 MHz Ultra Low Power Intel A110 processor designed for mobile devices, weighs just 1.56 pounds, and offers a 5.6-inch WSVGA touchscreen LED display along with a slim QWERTY keyboard. The U810 will be available with either Vista Home Premium, Vista Business, or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, and offers up to 5.5 hours of battery life—although it maxes out at 1 GB of RAM. Fujitsu is avoiding the label, but the U810 is essentially a UMPC; nonetheless, mobile users may well appreciate its tiny-yet-usable QWERTY keyboard. The LifeBook U810 should go on sale September 18 at prices starting at $999.
