Majesco Entertainment has announced they will be bringing Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009 to the Nintendo Wii, combining the video game system’s innovative wireless controller and Wii Fit Balance Board accessory in a celebrity fitness regimen designed to help player achieve their own personal fitness goals. Jillian Michaels is perhaps best known as the host of the television series The Biggest Loser, in which players compete to see who can lose the most weight over the course of the competition.
"As a huge gamer myself with younger siblings and godchildren, I recognize the importance of staying current with how people digest their media and information," said Jillian Michaels, in a statement. "I truly think this type of product will be instrumental in revolutionizing the fitness industry and will help combat the childhood obesity epidemic in this country today."
In the game, players will enroll in Jillian’s "boot camp" and engage in a training program that includes a constantly-shifting series of workouts along with fitness tests. Players will be able to choose different workout types—Weight Loss, Hill Climb, Intervals, and Strength Training—and durations between 10 and 60 minutes, and monitor their progress based on calories burned and workout intensity. A competitive mode will enable two players to compete against each other in individual challenges.

"Jillian Michaels’ expertise in the fitness world coupled with the innovative Wii Balance Board lets us deliver a compelling game that will change the way America approaches home fitness."
Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009 should ship in time for the end-of-year holiday season; no pricing information has been announced.
