Not dead after all, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Edge could return slimmer in 2026

Thought the S26 Edge was gone for good? Samsung might be making it slimmer next year.

What’s happened? Rumors of the Galaxy S26 Edge’s cancellation might have been premature after all, as a new report suggests that Samsung is still working on a slim phone.

  • According to a report by Galaxy Club, Samsung is developing a device codenamed “More Slim,” a name reminiscent of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s codename, “Slim.” This new device is believed to be the Galaxy S26 Edge.
  • However, its development began much later than that of other models in the Galaxy S26 series, so it is currently trailing behind.
  • The publication also suggests that the “More Slim” may not be the originally planned S26 Edge initially intended for the Galaxy S26 lineup.

Why is this important? This delay likely explains why Samsung reversed its decision to replace the S26 Plus with the S26 Edge, as the slim phone wouldn’t have been ready for an early 2026 launch.

  • With more time to develop the phone, Samsung could now release an even slimmer Galaxy S26 Edge later in 2026.
  • While the S25 Edge, at 5.8mm thick, held the title of the slimmest smartphone of 2025 for several months, Apple’s iPhone Air (5.6mm) took the crown in September 2025. The upcoming S26 Edge, however, is rumored to be even thinner than both.
  • Interestingly, this new report supports earlier leaks from around July this year that suggested the S26 Edge would be slimmer than its predecessor.

Confirmed:
The Galaxy S26 Edge will be thinner than the S25 Edge and have a larger battery thanks to new battery material technology.

Why should I care? This should come as good news for you, especially if you’re a Galaxy S25 Edge user who was disappointed at Samsung for reportedly giving up on the lineup, or someone who really liked the ultra-thin phone with near-flagship specifications but decided to wait for the lineup to mature.

  • If I were to speculate, the purported S26 Edge could either arrive in May 2026 (following the same release timeline as the S25 Edge) or it could accompany the next-generation foldables at the second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, which is usually held in July.

The Oppo Find X10 is ridiculously stacked, and I haven’t even got to the cameras yet
Oppo Find X10 has two 200MP cameras and absolutely zero interest in playing it safe
Oppo Find X10

Oppo had me genuinely jaw-dropped with the Find X9 Pro and Ultra. Those phones showed just how far smartphone technology could go when a manufacturer decided to stop playing it safe. And now, we have the Find X10 series, with Oppo seemingly in no mood to take its foot off the accelerator.

For this first impressions review, I have the vanilla Find X10, not to be confused with its more capable sibling, the Pro Max. There is no Ultra model announced yet, but fingers crossed on a China-only variant. Pricing is around $1,400 and at that pricing you would normally except something capable enough - and boy, Oppo has already started flexing.
