If you’re in the market for a new notebook computer, but would prefer to refrain from dropping a large sum of cash on one, you might want to check out Samsung’s Chromebook 2 notebooks. The company announced that they are available for pre-order right now.

The Chromebook 2 series sports a stitched leather finish borrowed from Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. The 11.6-inch model includes a 1366×768 screen, a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor clocked at 1.9GHz, and weighs 2.43 pounds. Meanwhile, the 13.3-inch unit bumps the display’s resolution up to 1920×1080, and includes the same CPU as the 11.6-inch Chromebook 2. However, the larger Chromebook 2’s processor does benefit from a higher clock speed (2.1GHz). The 13.3-inch version will weigh 3.09 pounds.

Both the 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch Samsung Chromebook 2 laptops will include a 16GB SSD, 4GB of RAM, a 720p webcam and run Chrome OS, Google’s desktop operating system. They will also both include one HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 connector, a memory card reader and audio/mic jacks. The 11.6-inch Samsung Chromebook 2 Series’ battery life is rated at “up to” 8 hours, while the larger unit has a rated battery life of “up to” 8.5 hours. The 11.6-inch model wears dimensions of 11.40 x 8.06 and 0.66-inches, while the 13.3-inch version sports measurements of 12.72 x 8.80 x 0.65-inches. Either way, Samsung’s new Chromebook 2 laptops are sure to be easy to carry around.

The 11.6-inch model will be available in Jet Black and Classic White, while the 13.3-inch variant ships in Luminous Titan Gray only. As we mentioned, these Chromebooks won’t cost you much. The 11.6-inch Chromebook 2 will run you $319.99, while the 13.3-inch version will set you back $399.99.

The 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch Chromebook 2 can be pre-ordered directly from Samsung right now, though we could only find a pre-order page for the latter on Amazon. While Samsung continues to keep an exact release date for the Chromebook 2 under wraps, they say that they will hit the market sometime this month. However, Amazon’s pre-order page for the 13.3-inch Samsung Chromebook 2 indicates an April 28 release date, but that could merely be a placeholder date.

Windows 11 PC with Android Phone

For years, Phone Link has felt like that one app everyone knows exists but rarely remembers to open. Microsoft apparently wants to change that. According to a report from Windows Central, the company is working on a major overhaul of how smartphones integrate with Windows 11, making phones feel like a native part of the operating system instead of something users access through a separate app.

What are Copilot+ PCs? Everything you need to know
Copilot

Walk through a laptop aisle in 2026 and the Copilot+ PC branding is highlight for most Windows laptops. From Microsoft's own surface to other PC makers like Samsung, HP, and Dell, you can find notebooks that carry this badge to convey that they are AI-ready. At a glance, the name sounds like it refers to a computer with a better version of the Copilot chatbot, which only explains a small part of it.

A Copilot+ PC is a Windows 11 computer that meets Microsoft’s hardware standard for advanced on-device AI features like a compatible processor with a dedicated NPU. You also need a certain amount of RAM and storage, all of which brings access to Windows features such as Recall, Click to Do, and much more. Many of these experiences use the NPU to process information locally, reducing their reliance on cloud servers and helping them run more efficiently in the background.
