Got Flash? Super Talent Intros 512 GB 2.5-inch SSD

San Jose’s Super Talent is positioning itself as a serious player in the solid-state drive (SDD) market, pushing out drop-in replacements for traditional hard drives at consumer-friendly prices. Of course, one of the problems with current SSD technology is that it doesn’t offer the same kinds of capacity as a traditional hard drive; now, Super Talent is looking to change that with its new MasterDrive RX line of SSDs, which feature capacities of 128, 256, and 512 GB.

"This product is great!" exuded Super Talent senior product manager Jeremy Werner, in a statement. "From a performance standpoint it’s like having two SSDs in the space of one, and it extends our standard 2.5-inch SATA-II product line to include a 512GB SSD."

The MasterDrive RX series are 2.5-inch SATA-II devices that can be used with Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating systems. The drives are available in MLC and SLC NAND Flash versions: Only the MLC is available in the 512 GB capacity, and those drives manage sequential read/write speeds of 230 and 160 MB/sec. The SLC NAND flash versions are available in 128 and 256 GB capacities and manage read/write speeds of 230 and 200 MB/sec, respectively. The SLC versions come with a three-year warranty, where the MLC versions pack a two-year guarantee.

The 512 GB MasterDrive RX retails for $1,449.99.

Intel Core i9-13900K held between fingertips.

Intel's Core i9-13900K is one of the best processors you can buy. The 24-core behemoth can rip through productivity workloads with ease, and it's easily one of the fastest gaming CPUs money can buy. Even with so much power under the hood, it's not the right choice for everyone.

Supreme power comes at a supreme cost, and for the Core i9-13900K, that comes in the form of heat and power draw. In addition, a recent wave of instability has hit Intel's high-end CPUs like the Core i9-13900K, making alternatives a bit more attractive.
