Toshiba TDP-ET20U Multimedia DVD Projector

Toshiba is getting ready to raise the home entertainment bar to a whole new level with the recent introduction of their first all-in-one multimedia DVD projector which sports “extreme shortprojection”, a new technology that projects a large image from only a few feet away. The new TDP-ET20U is priced at $1,399 and expected to be in retail stores this month.   The black pianofinish TDP-ET20U displays up to a 100” diagonal screen image from 3.9 feet away. It has digital light processing (DLP) technology, 1,100 lumens, 2000:1 contrast ratio and a widescreen formatwhich can have its aspect ratio adjust from 16:9 to 4:3. It is also capable of projecting the image upward of a 130-degree viewing angle with a plus or minus 40-degree vertical and 30-degreehorizontal digital keystone correction.   As part of its more unique feature set, the TDP-ET20U has an integrated DVD player for playing movies directly from the player. It supports a widevariety of disc formats, including DVD-Video, DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW,DVD-R,CD-DA, VCD,SVCD,ISO9600 (MP3,Divx), CD-R and CD-RW.  The TDP-ET20U also has 5.1- Toshiba TDP-ET20U Toshiba TDP-ET20U

This Toshiba projector offers an array of ports tucked into the front of its 10.6 pound body. Besides a RGB port for connecting to a PC and an HDMI port to act as an interface betweencompatible digital A/V sources, the TDP-ET20U also sports S-video, composite video and component video connections. These are joined by a stereo mini jack and coaxial audio in/out.   Othertechnical aspects of the TDP-ET20U include a 230W light source, native resolution of 854 x 480 (480p), a maximum projection screen size of 134”, a maximum projection distance of 6.2 feet andexternal dimensions of 12.7” x 13.5” x 6.1”.   More information on the Toshiba TDP-ET20U, which ships with a remote control, power cord, RGB cable, CD-ROM and user’smanual, can be found at Toshiba’s Web site.
