If you’ve ever wanted to own a high-tech gaming mouse with a name that’s as fierce as some of your most stressful FPS battles, now is a good time to be in the market for such a gizmo.

Logitech just revealed the G402 Hyperion Fury, a gaming rodent, which the company claims is the “world’s fastest gaming mouse.” That’s quite a lofty proclamation, to be sure. So what makes this thing so special — aside from the fact that it looks like something Voltron would use to play CoD?

The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury is geared for FPS-focused gamers. As you might imagine, the ability to quickly and precisely aim at moving targets in FPS titles is of utmost importance to your success and survival. Logitech claims that when it comes to precision, the G402 Hyperion Mouse is unmatched.

Powered by what the company calls its “Fusion Engine,” the G402 Hyperion Fury sports an optical sensor along with an ARM processor that allows it to track movement at high speeds. On top of that, using buttons located on the left side of the mouse, the G402 Hyperion Fury lets you to switch between four different DPI settings on the fly. That way, you can switch up the DPI to match the in-game situation without having to reconfigure your mouse in the options menu. For example, you might use a lower DPI setting when aiming at a target and switch to a higher one when running for cover. In all, the G402 Hyperion Fury has eight programmable buttons.

Of course, none of this matters if the mouse in question is uncomfortable to use, which is why Logitech outfitted the G402 Hyperion Fury with contours and rubber grips to ensure that you can focus on dominating the game, not resting your digits or wrist.

The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury costs $59.99, and can be pre-ordered right now. You can learn more about it here.

Logitech has cut the cord on one of its bestselling gaming mice. The new Logitech G502 Lightspeed is the wireless version of the Logitech G502 Hero, a wired mouse that has been a beloved choice for many gamers. By shedding the cord on the Lightspeed design, Logitech made some big updates to make the untethered experience even better than the corded version. Logitech went as far as calling the Lightspeed "faster than wired."

Logitech claims it examined every facet of the G502 Lightspeed, from the design to the circuitry to optimize the wireless connection to deliver low-latency performance. In the company's testing, the response time of the G502 Lightspeed is much faster than competing wired and wireless mice. Because of this tuning, you need to rely on the dedicated internal receiver to benefit from the Logitech's performance enhancements -- no Bluetooth here.
