Sony wants you to know it’s well prepared for next year’s CES tech trade show, and has already set the date for its press conference, where we should see the usual slew of cool new products announced. The event begins late on January 5, and if previous years are anything to go by, hardware from all of Sony’s categories will be covered.

What’s on the agenda? Sony’s keeping quiet, but mobile and wearable technology are sure to be a big feature. New division president Kunimasa Suzuki could make an appearance, perhaps outlining the future strategy for Sony’s mobile business, as it transitions from covering all price points, to focusing on higher-end hardware.

Rumors of an Xperia Z4 smartphone have already started to spread, but it has been linked with a Mobile World Congress debut, which sounds more appropriate if the company is to switch to one flagship Android phone release a year, rather than the existing two. Leaked specs suggest the Z4 could have a 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution screen, and a Snapdragon 810 processor powering it.

Smart eyewear could feature prominently, too. The company has said it wants to have a working demo version of the SmartEyeGlass ready for early 2015, and if we’re really lucky, it’s so-called Inception Glasses tech could be shown off. Staying with wearables, in September the Smart Lifelog Camera was confirmed for production, after being displayed as a concept at CES 2014. A full announcement at CES 2015 is possible.

During this year’s show, Sony launched new cameras, Bravia HD televisions, and plenty more. Expect rumors of its complete line-up to start appearing in the lead up to CES 2015, which begins on January 5.
