McLaren’s Special Operations division (MSO) has introduced a one-off version of the limited-edition P1 that wears the iconic Gulf livery.
Commissioned by businessman Miles Nadal, the custom P1 pays homage to the F1 GTR that raced in the 1990s with an eye-catching light blue paint job accented by a large orange stripe that goes from bumper to bumper. A thin orange stripe runs all around the bottom of the car, and orange calipers tucked away behind ten-spoke aluminum wheels add a finishing touch to the retro-inspired look.
The Gulf treatment continues in the cockpit, where MSO has added an orange and blue stripe on the Alcantara-upholstered steering wheel, orange and blue buttons on the center console and orange contrast stitching on the bucket seats.
Under the skin, the commemorative P1 packs a gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain that consists of a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine that works with a potent electric motor to produce a total of 916 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. Equipped with a high-capacity battery pack located between the seats and the engine bay, the supercar sprints from zero to 62 mph in less than three seconds and goes on to a top speed that is electronically limited to 217 mph.
MSO has not revealed how much Nadal paid for the one-off paint job.
