The AssignmentThe Evil Within‘s first downloadable content expansion, begins its two-part narrative arc that dives deeper into the game’s mysterious story on March 10, 2015.

In The Assignment, you play as detective Julie Kidman (voiced by Dexter actor Jennifer Carpenter), the partner to main game protagonist Sebastian Castellanos, from whom she is separated early in the game. The Assignment, and its follow-up, The Consequence (coming later in the spring) is meant to give you insight into more of The Evil Within‘s story, such as Julie’s whereabouts during the main game, and what her connection is to the mysterious Mobius organization.

The Evil Within is a return to survival horror for Shinji Mikami, who created the original Resident Evil. While investigating a mass murder in a mental asylum, detective Sebastian Castellanos is knocked unconscious and wakes up in a world full of horrifying monsters. Over the course of the story, he pieces together the horrific experiments that have been conducted in the mental hospital as he tries to escape in one piece.

The Assignment will be available on March 10 by itself for $10. It can also be purchased as part of the Season Pass for $20, which encompasses both The Assignment and its follow-up, The Consequence, as well as the third DLC, The Executioner, which puts you in control of the sinister Boxman. Bethesda will livestream The Assignment on March 6 at 4pm on the publisher’s Twitch pageThe Evil Within is available now for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
