The upcoming DC Comics supervillain team-up movie Suicide Squad is shaping up to be a dark affair, reportedly providing on-set therapists for its cast and in a recent update from the set, having the cast tattoo the director and one of their co-stars.

Photos of the inking were posted to Instagram by Suicide Squad writer/director David Ayer and actor Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop), who plays Rick Flagg in the film. The pair were the recipients of matching “SKWAD” tattoos inked by cast members Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Will Smith (The Pursuit of Happyness).

“Got my #skwad tattoo:) Will has many many talents, tattooing is not one of them.” wrote Kinnaman in the caption for his photo. “It was like watching a drunk baby fly a helicopter. #suicidesquad #willsmith #harleystattooparlour”

As for Ayer, he kept things simple with a shot (posted to Twitter) of Robbie hard at work on his tattoo, captioned “#skwad.” He also posted an image of the sign for the fictional shop where the tattoos were created, “Harley’s Tattoo Parlour” — indicating that Robbie’s Harley Quinn character may have settled into an occupation that keeps her on the right side of the law (and superheroes, for that matter).

Written and directed by Ayer, Suicide Squad brings together a long list of villains from the DC Comics universe for a gritty, live-action adventure in which they’re forced to cooperate on a dangerous mission being conducted by a secret government agency. Smith plays the assassin Deadshot, while Robbie plays Joker’s popular paramour, Harley Quinn.

The cast of Suicide Squad is filled out by Jai Courtney (Spartacus) as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne (Anna Karenina) as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost) as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez (Hostel) as El Diablo, Adam Beach (Flags of Our Fathers) as Slipknot, Viola Davis (The Help) as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) as the Joker. Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Raymond Olubowale, Alex Meraz, Jim Parrack, and Common are also rumored for unspecified roles.

The first iteration of Suicide Squad debuted all the way back in 1959, and the roster of the team has gone through a wide range of permutations over the years, with some members dying off — as the title of the series suggests — and being replaced by other villains.

Suicide Squad is currently filming, and is expected to hit theaters August 5, 2016.

I found a free universal TV remote app for iOS and Android that doesn’t spam ads
AnyRemote turns your phone into a TV remote without forcing a login or subscriptions
AnyRemote Universal remote app on iPhone 17 Pro Max

I have been looking for a universal TV remote app that just works without being annoying. Most of the ones I tried had some kind of catch. Some asked me to create an account before I could even connect to a TV. Some showed annoying un-skippable ads before a simple action. A few locked basic controls like volume behind a paywall, while others simply did not work as advertised.

In that search, I recently came across AnyRemote, a free universal TV remote app available on both iOS and Android. It turns your phone into a remote for your TV or streaming device without forcing a login or making you pay for the core buttons.

Spotify has removed more than half a million streams from Malcolm Todd’s song “Earrings” after finding suspected bot activity, according to a report by Financial Times.

The track, first released in 2024, suddenly rose to No. 1 on Spotify’s daily U.S. chart after a sharp jump in streams. At the same time, traders on prediction market Kalshi had been betting on whether Todd would land a No. 1 song on Spotify USA before the end of June. There is no suggestion Todd or his team were involved in any attempt to boost the song’s numbers. Kalshi has said it is investigating the matter.
