The Russians Are Coming with Mila Kunis: Actress producing new NBC comedy

Mila Kunis mainly takes film roles these days, but she’s also keeping busy with various TV projects on the production side. The actress/producer now has plans to executive produce a new comedy series for NBC with her production company. The network has begun developing The Russians Are Coming, which comes from Universal Television and Kunis’ Orchard Farm Productions, reports Deadline.

The single-camera comedy is to be written and co-executive produced by Sam Wolfson, who has worked on the 2014 MTV teen drama Finding Carter and the movies Race to Witch Mountain (2009) and Jewtopia (2012). The Russians Are Coming will be semiautobiographical, focusing on a man whose Russian in-laws move in upstairs. Naturally, we expect comical cultural clashes to ensue.

The project sounds like it will have some elements that overlap with Kunis’ own background. Although she’s Ukrainian rather than Russian, she immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 7. It’s a safe bet to assume that she’s experienced fish-out-of-water moments herself. She’ll work in tandem with her Orchard Farm production partners Cami Curtis, Susan Curtis, and Lisa Sterbakov.

Along with The Russians Are Coming, Kunis has various other production projects that are in the works. Starz recently announced that she is set to executive produce a horror comedy with Rob Zombie. The series, Trapped, will focus visitors of a very different kind; over the course of the series, a cult will try to take over a house rather than in-laws — arguably a scarier situation.

Orchard Farm Productions also has a put pilot commitment from Fox for another single-camera comedy, Champion: The Jeff Beekman Story, as well as a drama at ABC called Black Stiletto, which is based on the Raymond Benson action/adventure thriller book series.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. In 2024, Backlash France is the second PLE to be held outside the U.S., and it won't be the last. Five of the next six WWE PLEs will take place outside the U.S.

Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
