Rob Lowe (aka, Chris Traeger/The Grinder/Sodapop Curtis from The Outsiders) will be the one absorbing insults for 90-ish consecutive minutes, but lest you think he’s taking this lying down, have a look a the statement he released in preparation for the event.
“What a thrill to once again be following in Justin Bieber’s footsteps,” he said. “I look forward to a night of hilarious jokes recycled from the James Franco Roast. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of my family who have passed away and therefore will not have to endure what promises to be a very special evening.”
Sounds like he’s ready to mix it up, but just who he’ll be trading barbs with remains a mystery. That said, if there’s a roast happening, comedian Jeffrey Ross is somewhere close by.
“Rob Lowe is handsome, talented, successful, and handsome. He needs to be roasted,” said Comedy Central president Kent Alterman. Apparently, one handsome just isn’t enough to describe Lowe, whose trademark good looks are tough to recognize in the tweet below.

Lowe’s recent credits include You, Me and the Apocalypse, The Grinder, and voice work on Moonbeam City and The Lion Guard. The exact date of his roast is still TBD, but it is expected to air sometime this summer.
