Two new mid-range phones just debuted in South Korea — LG's X5 and its X Skin

LG’s smartphone family is growing, and the latest members to join the clan in South Korea are the X5 and X Skin. The two models join the mid-range X series in the company’s home country, and follow the release of other phones like the X power, the X cam, and the X screen.

The X Skin’s sleek design means that the smartphone is just 6.9 mm thick (making it the thinnest of the bunch thus far), and while it’s meant to be a mid-range phone, it still boasts respectable specs. The phone has a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory with a microSD slot, an 8MP camera, a 5MP front camera, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and a 2,100mAh battery.

As for the X5, the phone features a 5.5-inch (720 x 1,280 pixels) HD IPS display, and boasts 2 GB of RAM, with  a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, as well as a 2,800mAh battery. Both phones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Upon their debut, the X5 is slated to retail for $175, while the X skin will set consumers back $200 in South Korea. You can choose between white and black for the X5, or if you’re looking for a bit more color, try the X skin in either gold or titanium.

Currently, there appear to be no plans to offer the latest members of LG’s X family outside of their home country, though this may change if the phones prove to be a smash hit for consumers. Ultimately, both new phones are broadly comparable to the LG X Power, though the size and battery capacity vary a bit among the three.

So if you’re getting tired of your iOS device and are planning a trip to Korea anyway, you may want to check out LG’s latest mid-range offerings, and see if Android is the way forward for you.

How to turn off call forwarding on iPhone and Android
A person holding the Apple iPhone 15 Plus, showing the camera.

If you’re mysteriously missing calls on your iPhone or Android smartphone, it may be because call forwarding is activated on your line. In that case, all your incoming calls could be going somewhere else.

Call forwarding shouldn’t typically be active unless you’ve specifically turned it on, but another person or app may have done so without your knowledge. And since call forwarding is a carrier feature, it could still be enabled on a line you inherited from someone else, even if you’ve swapped their SIM card into your phone or transferred it to a new account.
