It’s that time of the year for unparalleled discounts on all things tech. Amazon Prime Day deals just offered up a huge discount on the Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop. You can get this incredible upgraded setup for $550 off. The laptop is down to only $950 today, down from its usual price of $1,500. Don’t let these amazing Prime Day gaming laptop deals sneak past you. There are only 36 hours left of this year’s biggest shopping holiday!

This gaming laptop is a true powerhouse. While this deal is for the 2020 model, not the newest iteration, it still packs a worthy punch. The 10th-gen Intel Core i7-10875H processor was a big step up for the laptop at the time, and will certainly still hold its own. Our Razer Blade 15 2020 review noted that the laptop averaged around 134 fps during tests. That’s the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card for you. Combine that with 16GB of RAM and 5 GHz CPU clock speed and you’re ready for the most demanding AAA titles. The only major cons our reviewer noted were that the laptop runs hot and the price is steep. Good thing Prime Day takes care of the second point.

The screen on the Razer Blade 15 has a thin bezel and a 300Hz refresh rate, so it will make any game look beautiful. Its native resolution is only 1080p, so no 4K Youtube videos on this machine. But the NVIDIA card and Intel Core processor would pair well with a higher resolution monitor if you’re planning on playing at a desk or on the couch.

Don’t let Prime Day gaming deals slip past you this year. This is only one of the Prime Day Razer deals that are live right now, so don’t be afraid to shop around. For instance, you’ll need a gaming mouse and headset to pair with this laptop. Remember that Prime Day won’t last forever, so close that shopping cart before this deal is gone. The Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop is only $950 right now – $550 off its usual sticker price. Click the Buy Now button to upgrade your gaming setup before it’s too late.

Apple is reportedly giving the MacBook Pro a touchscreen and the iPad Mini a higher price tag
Apple might finally admit that touching a screen is useful on a laptop

Apple is preparing for a major Mac and iPad launch towards the end of October, with redesigned MacBook Pro models expected to take centre stage. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, Apple is planning an event on or around October 27, where it could introduce touchscreen MacBook Pro laptops, updated Macs and a new iPad mini.

The launch could mark a significant shift for the MacBook Pro, which is reportedly getting its most substantial redesign in years. Apple had initially targeted a late-2025 release for the touchscreen laptop, but development priorities and supply-chain delays pushed the launch back. The new models are now said to be ready for their debut.

ChatGPT’s yes-man era may finally be coming to an end
ChatGPT is learning that agreeing with everything you say isn’t always helpful
ChatGPT

OpenAI says it is making progress in reducing a troubling behaviour in ChatGPT: the tendency to agree with users too readily, even when their beliefs may be false or harmful. The improvements come as researchers and mental-health professionals raise concerns about prolonged chatbot conversations reinforcing delusions, encouraging unhealthy dependence and failing to direct vulnerable users towards human support.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal published on October 10, OpenAI’s older GPT-4o model was associated with several reported cases of serious harm following lengthy interactions. The report cited at least seven suicides, one murder-suicide and one mass shooting linked to extended ChatGPT conversations last year, while noting that other AI models were implicated in some cases. These reported associations do not, by themselves, establish that chatbot use caused each incident.

The Adobe clones are real, but so is the work left to finish them
Seven free alternatives are out now, but their own documentation shows how much work remains
Nature, Outdoors, Sea

Free versions of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom are an easy sell to anyone tired of paying Adobe. Add a developer who says he vibe-coded replacements for seven of the company’s apps, and the triumphant headline practically writes itself. Adobe can presumably start clearing its desk.

Brandon Thomas’s Crafting Apps give that excitement something to work with. People can download the tools, inspect the source code, and find their way around familiar interfaces.
