Rockstar gave Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas an HD remaster for Xbox 360

A high-definition remaster of Xbox-era classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming to Xbox 360’s Games On Demand store for download on October 26, Rockstar Games confirmed. The enhanced version features a 720p resolution, improved draw distance, and Achievements (22 of which you can find listed at the source link).

Note that save files will not transfer over from the Xbox Originals version of San Andreas that was previously available in the Xbox 360’s store. Owners of the original will still be able to access it, with the option to purchase the new version alongside it if they want the new coat of paint and Gamerscore fodder.

GTA Online is getting a huge update this summer that includes plenty of quality-of-life improvements. More importantly, it's giving players even more to do if they want to play around with their own definition of morality and justice.

While the update doesn't have a release date or window yet, Rockstar Games introduced some details in a blog post published Wednesday. Arguably, the biggest addition is the ability to set up your own bounty hunting and bail enforcement business. PlayStation Plus users will be losing out on 12 games in June, and one of them is a must-play if you're a fan of open-world action adventures from 2013.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is widely considered to be one of the most iconic games all time, and it's definitely the best Grand Theft Auto game. It's also easy to play on nearly any platform (minus Nintendo Switch, of course). It even received a next-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2022. That said, if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription and wanted to play it at some point -- or just wanted to get a session or two in before Grand Theft Auto 6 -- you'll have until June 12 to do so.
