Vizio may be best known for its low cost/high value TV lineup, but the company has been expanding its reach into the sound bar market recently with some impressive offerings. And nothing says expansion quite like Vizio’s new 54-inch wide load of audio machismo, the S5430w sound bar, unveiled just this morning.
Boasting nearly five feet of home theater real estate, the flagship S5430w is designed for the ubiquitous new class of massive flat screens, specifically for 60-inch models and up. The bar comes with 3 channels of DTS enhanced audio, including a center channel section dedicated to improving dialog clarity, and wide-spread left and right channels to provide a broad stereo image. Other specs for the bar include Dolby Digital, and DTS decoding, an onboard “deep bass” module, Bluetooth with aptX technology, and HDMI connection.
While Vizio might not be the first brand you think of when considering high performance audio, that may soon change. We’ve been seriously impressed with what the company has been able to do with it sound bars in the last few years, and Vizio shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, in a recent shoot out with three other entry-level competitors, we picked Vizio’s 2-channel candidate as the clear winner. And just like its TV stable, Vizio’s sound bars offer a price point that fits the common man’s budget.
Vizio’s new 3.0 S5430w is priced at $300, and is available today.
