Beatbot’s Sora 70 raises the bar for midrange robotic pool cleaners

Beatbot's newest robotic pool cleaner blends high-end tech with midrange practicality, signaling a shift in what everyday pool owners should expect for their money.

The Chinese robotic pool cleaner company Beatbot has announced Sora 70, the first model in its new Sora lineup. Scheduled for a spring 2026 launch, the product borrows ideas from its more expensive siblings (like the AquaSense 2 Ultra), making it a high-performance pool cleaner. However, we’ve been promised that the Sora 70 will target the midrange segment with a value-driven approach.

At the core of the device is the JetPulse Water Surface Cleaning dual-flow jet system, which actively collects floating debris like insects, pollen, twigs, or larger dust particles toward the suction inlet, before they sink and collect at the floor of your pool.

Under the hood, Beatbot’s HydroBalance structure combines a center-mounted pump with a high-capacity motor that moves 6,800 gallons per hour, which should be strong enough to lift fine sand, leaves, and stubborn algae.

Regarding coverage, the Sora 70 can clean floors, walls, waterlines, and shallow ledges (as low as eight inches), reducing any dead spots left by manual cleaners. It also comes with a six-liter debris bin that can hold up to 800 leaves (the company claims it’s twice the capacity of a typical cleaner).

Powering the Sora 70 robotic pool cleaner is a 10,000 mAh battery rated to provide up to 5 hours of floor cleaning and up to 7 hours of surface skimming. Beatbot claims the device can cover a pool up to 3,230 square feet in a single cycle.

Finally, when the pool cleaner completes its job, it rises to the surface, drains excess water, and remains there to be lifted, thanks to Smart Surface Parking, a unique and effective floating retrieval system (works like a real-life submarine). This, in particular, is among the strongest aspects of the product.

If you take a quick scan of the midrange pool-cleaning robots available on the market, you’ll realize that most of them cut corners, either in suction, coverage, or battery life.

However, the Sora 70 brings all the high-end features, such as surface skimming, shallow-water cleaning, and self-floating retrieval, into a relatively lower price point (that remains under wraps for now).

If you have a medium- or large-sized pool at your place (up to 3,230 square feet), the Sora 70 could help you save the time and effort of cleaning it manually, or the recurring cost of calling local pool cleaners. It promises fewer missed spots, less manual skimming, and no wrestling a waterlogged robot out of the pool.

The Beatbot Sora 70 will be available in the United States in spring 2026. Pricing for the product hasn’t been announced yet. Check out our latest CES 2026 coverage to know about more such useful and exciting products.

The Google Home Speaker is impressive, until you look at the power cable

The Google Home Speaker hasn't even started shipping yet, but one lucky buyer managed to grab one early and share their first impressions. While most of the news is positive, there's one detail that won't sit well with anyone who cares about repairability.

For the unaware, Google announced the speaker back in October 2025, and pre-orders went live last week. Priced at $99, it's the company's first new speaker in six years, so people have plenty of questions.
